The Price Is Right model Dian Parkinson (born On November 30, 1944, in Jacksonville, North Carolina)
Miss District of Columbia USA 1965, while living in Falls Church, Virginia, participated as Diana Batts in the Miss USA 1965 beauty contest, where she finished fourth runner-up. Parkinson won Miss World USA 1965. As Miss USA, she finished second behind Lesley Langley of the UK in the international Miss World pageant.
She toured with the Bob Hope USO Show in 1965, including a performance in Vietnam in late December. Bob Hope misrepresented her as Miss USA. She was the 1965 Bob Hope Desert Classic Golf Tournament Queen.
Parkinson was the most often seen model in the “Price Is Right Department Store” Showcase in the seventies and eighties, appearing as a ubiquitous elevator operator in several of these showcases. Her 18 years on TPIR were the longest of any model.
Parkinson departed the program in 1993, after announcing it on her final performance, as Bob Barker explained. She had quit the program due to an ongoing quarrel with model Janice Pennington, according to tabloid speculations.
Parkinson appeared in nude pictorials on the December 1991 and May 1993 covers of Playboy. She was also featured in “Playboy Presents Dian Parkinson” magazine. Parkinson has her own Celebrity Centerfold DVD in 1993.
